Abstract

The subject of software engineering poses a great challenge to learners and teachers alike, as a large number of abstract methods and models have to be learned. At Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, the learning game "Software Engineering in the Future" was developed as a supplement to the classroom teaching. The students should be motivated by the learning game to deal with the topic in order to then learn and deepen individual methods in appealingly designed authentic scenarios. The article presents the central aspects of the game development and the results of an initial survey of the students.
