Abstract

How digital space can become the "enabling space" of pedagogy is the guiding question of the article. For it is essential for the subject of media pedagogy how pedagogically relevant processes are conditioned by the media and in what way they can be shaped. This is transferred to the digital space and illustrated with examples. In the following step, based on the socio-spatial concept, it will be discussed to what extent subjectively oriented approaches can sufficiently take into account the fact that digital spatiality is fundamentally special due to its mediality. Therefore, both subjectivising and objectivising approaches are important. This will be concretised by means of examples of corresponding conceptions, such as those in media pedagogy, media aesthetics or media studies. In the last section, an overview of the essays in this yearbook is given and the contribution it makes to the media pedagogical study of digital space is shown.
