Abstract

In this article, the didactic principles of GOFEX are combined with those of the online platform kidipedia using the example of the teaching unit 'kidi on tour'. Starting from the topic 'Coal power and wind energy - fossil vs. renewable energies', which is prepared in GOFEX by means of open experimentation, a 'real' excursion is planned and carried out, supported by digital media (including tablets). The findings are presented on kidipedia in the sense of a 'virtual excursion'. This 'double excursion' enables learners to benefit from the advantages of digital spatio-temporality through real and virtual visits to an extracurricular place of learning and, in addition to promoting basic subject-related competences, also enables the promotion of "extended media competence" (GDSU 2013: 83).
