Abstract
The educational system in Spain - as in Europe in general - faces the challenge of creating conditions that enable all citizens to acquire the competences necessary for the appropriate and responsible use of information and communication technologies. Knowledge about the use of digital opportunities, i.e. their frequency and contexts, their conditions and difficulties, is fundamental for appropriate planning of educational offers. Accordingly, this paper presents results from a survey study in Spain, which aimed to record usage frequencies and contexts as well as existing problems in the use of communication technologies. The focus is on the use of communication tools.
