Abstract
The authors present the results of the comparative study on the media use behaviour of children and young people, which is part of the international research project Children, Young People and the Changing Media. In Switzerland, socio-cultural aspects of media use behaviour are of interest here in addition to class-specific aspects. Therefore, the authors set the following focal points in the evaluation of the study: 1. media use behaviour of children and young people, 2. relationship between the use of mother-tongue and English-language media (music, internet sites), 3. educational influence of parents. In addition to class-specific differences in the media use behaviour and educational style of the parents, language-regional differences could also be determined.
