Abstract

The political concept of accessibility aims at the design of new media - especially the internet. It is a reaction to their growing importance as well as to the perception of a persistent, construction-related exclusion from their use, especially by certain groups of disabled people. This applies in a similar way to other social groups. For the goal of real use of this medium by all, it makes sense to interpret it as a social space in which certain conditions for participation prevail and which has socially differentiating effects.
