Abstract
Since 2002, lecturers at the University of Zurich, the ETH and the PH Zurich have been able to complete a certificate programme that focuses on promoting e-competence for university lecturers. Due to changes in the framework conditions resulting from the end of state funding for large e-learning projects and the increased importance of new Web 2.0 applications, a reform of this continuing education programme is currently being planned. It is undisputed that a media-didactic qualification of lecturers is still an important prerequisite for establishing the use of digital media in university teaching. The didactic concept of the "Zurich E-Learning Certificate" represents a good basis, which offers an excellent starting point for adapting to the new framework conditions due to the high proportion of self-organisation and flexibility with regard to the contents of the further training and due to the close link with university didactics. Based on the qualification programme as well as a concrete example of a participant's teaching practice in history, the article underlines the necessity of a scientific discussion about suitable didactic concepts and emphasises the central position of reflexive learning for the promotion of e-competence.
