Abstract

The increasing equipment of schools with digital media is becoming a challenge for organisational development. Teachers' digital materials as well as pupils' work in digitalised form are growing every day. Up to now, suitable organisational and technical possibilities for archiving, distribution and use have been lacking. In companies, the term knowledge management has established itself as an organisational concept that aims to optimise the use of knowledge as a resource. In order to support these processes, information and communication technology tools have been and are being developed, but their transfer to the school sector must fail due to its organisational complexity. This paper highlights these particularities and outlines the experiences with the development of a web-based knowledge management system in cooperation with schools.
