Abstract

In the first part of the article, the author explores the question of what role e-learning plays at universities. She names projects that are funded by the federal government (partly with commercial participation) and expresses the thesis that e-learning requires didactic concepts and could thus mean an upgrading of pedagogy. In the course of competition among universities, academic staff would have to deal with the conceptualisation of e-learning and consequently with media-didactic basics. Following this, educational theory, she describes in detail a seminar on "Educational Theory in Continuing Education" that the Universities of Bielefeld and Flensburg conducted together. The focus was on the use of "blended learning". Present elements were replaced and accompanied by online phases. The seminar was evaluated and can thus provide impulses for further concepts.
