Abstract

The aim of the project to be presented is, in a first step, to identify patterns of action of teachers in the use of new media in teaching the subjects German, mathematics and computer science at secondary level II. For this purpose, video recordings of 30 lessons are analysed with regard to underlying 'teaching scripts' (i.e. didactic routines) and the teachers' subjective theories of teaching and learning are surveyed. The composition of the sample takes into account not only the variation in subject affiliation, but also the teachers' level of expertise in the use of new media, in two gradations (high - low). In this way, in a second step, it is possible to generate well-founded hypotheses on connections between patterns of action as well as subject and expertise as contextual factors and to describe possible areas of application. Going beyond this basic research, the third step is to use the findings to develop interventions that enable further development of teacher action in the use of new media in the classroom. However, this raises the question of how action can be fundamentally changed.
