Abstract

Video-based observation as an empirical method for analysing the media use behaviour of young people is rarely integrated into research projects. The traditional dominance of written-language procedures must be expanded with further methodological concepts against the background of a strongly visual media world. By means of the research project "Media biographies with competence gain", an insight into the practical work of videography is given.
