Abstract
The necessity of a fundamental change in the education system in Germany is hardly controversial. It is obvious that a society that sees itself in epochal processes of change from an industrial society to an information or knowledge society cannot align its educational ideas with the old assessments and values. But what are the central ideas for such a change? Where do they tie in? What ballast do they have to throw overboard? How and where can we find clues as to what learning for the future can look like? This article will focus on the question of what role digital technologies play and could play in these processes of change.
