Abstract
The concept of the 'media habitusʻ, developed in recent years on the basis of Bourdieu's habitus concept and closely in line with empirical data, makes it possible to work on and clarify in a theory-based manner some central findings that can be observed in the field of tension between 'school and mediaʻ and which at first seem paradoxical. The analysis of the habitus- and milieu-specific dispositions, canons of values and patterns of action of (future) teachers that underpin their dealings with the various media allows deeper insights than the long-dominant focus on questions of equipment or media-technical operating skills. Most read articles by the same author(s)
