Into the Future with Media Education. Outlines, Rationales and (Inter-)Disciplinary Encounters

Moving into the future with Media Education is unavoidable in view of the disruptive tendencies of artificial intelligence and some more technologies for individuals and society. It is therefore particularly important that the discipline and profession of Media Education continuously draws attention to its diverse research, practices and orientation aids and enters into discourse with various (political) educational authorities. This yearbook illustrates a series of present and future-oriented contributions to illustrate, for one, the self-assurance of Media Education to become aware of its own (again and again) and, for another, the great importance of this discipline as a benchmark for individuals and society in a future of digitalisation. Both subject-related theory development and empirically and programmatically orientated contributions in this yearbook clearly show what the interaction between people and media should look like and how it can succeed in the future.
